Presentations were mainly regarding the results of the last year research that was done in the Upper Galilee region. Two presentations were by delegates from the Ministry of Agriculture who summarised the activities during 2019, and also showed figures from the Israeli Central Statistic Bureau that the average age of farmers in Israel not only became higher, but much fewer farmers under 35 are active.

Part of the discussion was concentrated on the fee the orchards’ farmers are paying in order to enable the research to be done concerning different crops and how the use of orchards’ waste can contribute the farmers. It was emphasised that the farmers’ participation in contributing to the research to be done is the main reason that other contribution could be raised. It was also emphasised that the decision on the direction of the research is directed in collaboration with the farmers. Some farmers emphasised the contribution of MIGAL and Northern R&D to the great advance of agriculture in the region.
