The main subject of this workshop was to present the idea of “Circular Economy” and the importance synergy between the cattle and the animal feed. During the workshop, we have presented new technology for the cattle management, which uses drones and smart collars, both of them may improve the cattle management and its scatter in the field. There was much emphasize on the importance of the animal feed sources, that have to be economically efficient both for the crop growers, and for the cattle farmers. We have presented current uses for the straw (for example: feed, padding, etc.), and there was much discussion for new potential uses of the biomass.

We have invited cattle farmers, farmers, researchers, representatives from ministry of agriculture, and other people from the region.

It seems, from the presentation and discussions that were taking place during the meeting, that the idea of “Circular Economy” is still new for the farmers. The main problem raised from the discussion was how farmers can apply this idea, and whether it can be economically feasible. Also the question raised by farmer was whether the by-products have a higher value for the farmers than for bedding the are using now.
