ACI’s Future of Biogas Europe Conference will be taking place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on 13th-14th November 2019.

The European biogas market is set to witness strong growth on account of growing focus toward decarbonizing the energy sector supported by a multitude of legislative schemes and policies. Increased production and use of biogas to support the circular economy and renewable energy mix will stimulate the industry growth in the region.

According to recent report published by Global Market Insights, Inc. says Europe Biogas Market is expected to surpass USD 6 Billion by 2025.

The World Biogas Association estimates that by 2020, the biogas sector in the Netherlands has the potential to produce 1.2 billion m3 of biogas or 0.75 billion m3 of biomethane, increasing to 3.7 billion and 2.2 billion m3 respectively by 2030 (Green Gas Forum, 2014). Significant growth is expected in biogas from manure, sewage sludge, grass and seaweed.

This is why we are excited to announce that ACI’s 5th Future of Biogas Europe Conference will be taking place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on 13th – 14th November 2019.

European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology & the Bioeconomy (EFIB) 2019
Sep
30
to Oct 2

European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology & the Bioeconomy (EFIB) 2019

EFIB is the market leading annual event in Europe for Industrial Biotechnology and the Bioeconomy.

Industrial Biotechnology is currently worth €23 billion representing just 6% in sales of the overall worldwide chemicals market. However, it is significantly out-performing the overall chemicals market at an impressive 20% annual growth rate and has the potential to become the dominant technology of tomorrow’s chemicals industry, representing a huge future opportunity.

Delivering on this opportunity will require significant investment, innovation and value chain development and most importantly new collaborations across the sector. Additionally we are faced with important challenges posed by high energy prices, the impact of the shale gas boom on the development of biobased chemicals markets and the ongoing need for predictable, coherent and supportive policy in the EU.

In order to understand and overcome these challenges and prosper in tomorrow’s bioeconomy, for more than ten years, industry experts throughout the vibrant and innovative biobased community have come together to one central location every year to discuss the key issues and gain a snapshot of the most significant developments on scale up of commercial biorefineries around the world.

That location is the European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology & the Bioeconomy (EFIB), where delegates are provided with an update on the status and outlook of biobased industries. EFIB is proud to foster engagement between policy makers, a broad range of stakeholders connected with the existing biobased value chain and seeks to reach out to, and include, new interlocutors.

In the last decade, EFIB delegates, exhibitors, sponsors and speakers have been showcasing innovative products and processes that deliver solutions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Last year, we celebrated the Industrial biotech communities’ latest achievements in harnessing the power of innovation to deliver solutions to global grand challenges. Influential brands and industry leaders met in Toulouse, France, with a broad range of stakeholders and policy makers to discuss the transformative potential of Industrial Biotechnology to create a smarter and more sustainable future.

It aims to stimulate the interest of scientists and citizens and inform them about the latest developments in the field of municipal solid waste management.

Separation at source, Biological Treatment, the treatment at central facilities, waste prevention, biowaste utilization, recycling promotion, Waste-to-energy technologies & energy recovery, smart technologies for waste management, sludge management, agricultural and livestock waste, management of specific waste streams(construction & demolition waste, waste from electrical and electronic equipment, etc.), biotechnology, Best Available techniques, symbiosis networks, energy consumption and saving, carbon footprint and water footprint, zero-waste initiatives, plastics and bioplastics, marine litter constitute main conference subjects. Special attention will be drawn to the valorization prospects & the products from solid waste, such as: biofuels, compost, materials, etc. It is also our ambition to strengthen the link of the applied research with industry. Hazardous waste & Household hazardous waste also constitute target area of the conference. Emphasis will be placed on circular economy in all key action areas (production, consumption, waste management, secondary raw materials, innovation, investment & monitoring) and all priority sectors (food waste, plastics, biomass and bio-based-products, construction & demolition waste, critical raw materials), as well as waste management issues and resource efficiency in islands and generally isolated and remote areas.

2nd International Symposium on Biomass/Wastes Energy and Environment (BEE 2019)

The 2nd Symposium on Biomass/Wastes Energy and Environment (BEE 2019) will be held in Tianjin, China, on May 23-26, 2019. The symposium will be hosted by Tianjin University, which is the first modern style University in China, established in 1895 initially named 'Peiyang University'.

BioEnergy is foreseen to play an important role in near-future energy picture in particular for oil and gas market. However, major disputes, such as food supply security, environmental and ecological uncertainties and associated biodiversity, are arising and spreading among politicians and the public. These disputes may significantly hinder BioEnergy development in the dimension of technical and policy aspects.

This Symposium aims to provide an open platform for sharing information related to updated development of BioEnergy technologies and policy as well as associated environmental concerns, so as to promote interactions among academics, government and the industries. During the Symposium, an International Forum and Exhibition on Technology*Art*Public Awareness Campaign on Wastes will be held in parallel.

BEE2019 is inspired by BEE2017 and will continue the process of successfully launched event series. The 1st International Symposium on BioEnergy and Environment (BEE 2017) was held in Tianjin on July, 2017. 400+ experts and scholars from 11 countries attended the symposium. Notably, 65% BEE2017 symposium conference paper were cited by SCI. Also, the selected papers of BEE2019 will be recommended to the special issues of Science of the Total Environment (IF=4.9) and Energy and Fuels (IF=3.02).
